Junior High Missions - Charleston, SC, June, 2008

The Junior High mission team traveled to Charleston June 21-26 where it ministered at three different organizations—the Salvation Army, the Rural Mission House and the Charleston Senior Center.

Ten kids and four adults made the trek. Participating youth were: Zoe Dale, Dillon Garcia, Shannon Hall, Hank Haltiwanger, Alex Kohel, Katherine Krapfel, Bobby Ley, Jake Margle, Becca Moore and Nathan St. Onge. The adults that accompanied the kids were: Donna Hall, Chris Hobensack, Millason Dailey and Matt Bussell. While in Charleston, the group stayed at the James Island Presbyterian Church Mission House, venturing out to a different mission site each day. The group organized items for sale at the Salvation Army; played with the children of migrant workers at the Rural Mission House; and socialized and served lunch to the elderly at the Charleston Senior Center. Every afternoon, the youth enjoyed fun activities, including playing ultimate Frisbee at Waterfront Park; visiting Cypress Gardens; rowing through the swamps in flat-bottomed boats; playing miniature golf and riding go-karts at Blackbeard's Cove; and playing in the ocean at Folly Beach. The evenings featured devotional time and Sunday morning the group worshipped with James Island Presbyterian.
