THORNWELL BUILDING FAMILIES

SPRING VALLEY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

Building Families Program

The Thornwell Building Families Program is a community-based, intensive in-home program designed to address the needs of families. The Program provides services that build upon the existing strengths of families in order to reduce the stressors interfering with healthy family functioning.

Building Families creates impactful change and emotional strength in families by using researched and proven treatment methods in a personalized way. Parents learn how to set age-appropriate boundaries and maintain discipline without anger or violence. Thornwell Family Specialists use positive reinforcement, modeling, role playing, and other methods to teach lasting, effective parenting and communication skills.

Meet Elizabeth Ogorek

Elizabeth is the Family Specialist for Thornwell’s Building Families Program at SVPC. She graduated from Presbyterian College with a bachelor’s in psychology and received her education specialist degree in marriage and family therapy from the University of South Carolina. She is a licensed professional counselor and licensed marriage and family therapist. She is looking forward to working with and through SVPC to strengthen and empower families in the community.

The Building Families Program is available to members of our community who are facing issues that most families encounter. If you or someone you know would like more information or would like to set up a consultation appointment, please email Elizabeth or call her at 803-312-2955.
