CHILDREN AND YOUTH

SPRING VALLEY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

CHILDREN AND YOUTH MINISTRIES

NURSERY

Our youngest members (ages 0-3 years old) are cared for by our Nursery care providers in the Nursery (room 102- across from Crossroads) every Sunday morning between 8:15 am - 11:30 am.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

The Children’s Ministry of Spring Valley Presbyterian Church helps our children grow closer to Christ by developing a firm foundation for their faith. This is done by covering the basics of the Bible, fostering a warm and welcoming environment, creating opportunities for fun and fellowship, and providing chances to serve within our worship services.

Our children are encouraged to participate in all Faith Formation programming on Sunday mornings. We also offer Children’s Time in both services, which is followed by Children’s Church (preK 3 - 1st grade) in room 213. For more information about our Children’s programs, please contact Marilyn Dillon.

STRIKERS (3rd-5th GRADE)

Our Strikers program is a group of 3rd through 5th graders that meet twice a month on Sunday afternoons. The meetings are a combination of service projects and fun activities and seek to promote fellowship and fun in a Christian environment. For more information about our Strikers program, please contact Julie Coffey.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Our Middle School students meet weekly on Sunday nights for Youth Group from 5-6:15 PM followed by a shared dinner with the high school group which ends at 6:45 PM. The middle school group spends their time growing in faith through fellowship, mission work, self-development, and worship. Fun activities include game nights, gaga ball, sardines, movie nights, and lots more!

Each school year, the group kicks off with a weekend fall retreat (just for 6th-8th graders) to build stronger connections with one another through God’s love. Above all else, our middle school programs strive to set a foundation for faith-based friendships which show God’s love and acceptance to all!

For more information about middle school youth group, please contact Meredith Orel at meredith@svpc.org.

HIGH SCHOOL

Our High School students meet bi-weekly on Wednesday mornings and Sunday evenings. On Wednesdays from 8:30-9:15 AM, students meet for Wednesday Morning Bible Study which includes breakfast, fellowship, and faith-based discussion. We have two meeting locations based on which school students attend: Spring Valley & Blythewood.

On Sunday nights from 6:15-8:30 PM, students meet for combined dinner with the middle school group and for their Youth Group. The high school group spends their time growing in faith through fellowship, mission work, self-development, and worship. Fun activities include game nights, bake-offs, gaga ball, sardines, movie nights, lock-ins, and lots more!

Each school year, the group kicks off with a weekend fall retreat (exclusive for high school students) to build stronger connections with one another through God’s love. The group also attends Montreat Youth Conference, a week-long mountain retreat, every summer where their faith, friendships, and memories grow abundantly. Above all else, our high school programs strive to set a strong foundation for faith-based friendships which show God’s love and acceptance to all!
